My Dad died suddenly when I was 20. At the time I was working full time with students all over the country. So many of them had little or no relationship with their father and therefore had a really tough time seeing God as a Daddy (Abba), the word Jesus used to describe Him. My book is a simple collection of memories that came flooding into my mind soon after my Dad died. They were each a little doorway right to the heart of God, so I wrote them down for the folks who needed to see through the eyes of someone else. My dad was a simple man, but he was a good dad.
I said that phrase so many times when my husband and I were given the task of planting a new Church in downtown Asheville. God required me to learn how to hang on in a whole new way. Anyone who has faced great change or great challenges will likely relate to this book.
I wrote this for my nephew but it is available now for everyone who would like (or need) a little bit of a guided walk through the Gospel of Luke. Each day has a short assigned reading with a short directional thought. The journal includes space for you to write your thoughts and prayers.
